So it looks as though my past posts have zero views . . . which isn't a big problem for me. I usually blog for myself, not for an audience. But it's hard to encourage others in their efforts if I don't really know who's doing what. It was nice to see Ann and Louise yesterday. Lots of projects going on!
For Week 25 (June 18-24), I had item #7 "Stop eating after 7pm this week." Ironically, this is one I had been doing very well on for most of the past three years! But on this particular week in June . . . not so much! Late-night eating used to be a huge problem for me, but if I eat dinner around 6pm and then brush my teeth, I resist the urge to chow down later in the evening. Sometimes, though, we live on "lake time" even here at home and eat dinner later. So at least twice if not three times, I blew this one!
For Week 26 (June 25-July 1), I had #49 "Encourage someone who needs an extra bit o' loving this week, send a note, place a call, give a hug." Since we were up at the lake, I mostly focused on loving my husband! But I did send a few notes and cards. Since it's summertime, it feels good to get back in the habit of connecting with people more often. I love snail mail!
For this week (July 2-8), I'm going to blog right now and be done! I got #3 "Drink at least 1 more glass of water than you normally would this week." My goal (using my Fitbit app) is 64 ounces per day, but I almost *never* drink that much water. I'm definitely doing better this week than usual, but it's sad that I have to make such an effort to drink water instead of pop, coffee, etc. This one will be an ongoing goal for me!
There! I'm caught up now. Not that it probably matters to anyone but me . . . I'm a completion-oriented individual. "Finish what you start" is part of who I am.

Happy Summer Solstice! The year is new, time to do something, anything, whatever... I had the opportunity to sleep in today - no work, no side jobs, nothing much to do... so I woke up at 4:10am (do you need reviving?), yes I said I woke up at 4:10am and decided to finish the last 75 pages of my book. So when that was one I was still up. I balanced my check book, I e-mailed some peeps during the 6am hour, I puttered around the homestead, tried out a soaker hose and soaked myself instead, then around about 9am I went back to sleep.
I got up again around 11am and have accomplished very little since then - my kind of day!
I did make arrangements to pick up a friend and go on an adventure tomorrow, just a little day-vaca, where I plan to spoil her silly rotten, we'll pretend we're 30 years younger with no sponsibilites, no time table, only a little agenda (eat at a pub in Marine On St Croix where the creek runs under the building), visit the general store to see the jigsaw puzzles on the wall, look for the eagles nest, visit the cool eco friendlly neighborhood on the hill, hit Stillwater, and a quilt store, maybe wander around the town licking ice cream cones, take a cave tour, whatever she feels like doing.
I like to baby my girlfriends, especially the married with child-rens, I think they all need an escape day. They may want to nap in the peaceful quiet, create some art, watch a movie, pig out on yummie treats, or help me finish off that big bottle o' wine. Doesn't matter, it makes me happy to do some thing nice for other people.
I also am thinking about summer entertaining my family and friends, grilling, making cold salads, eating, drinking and having fun - music too... lot's of stuff to do to make room for extra peeps, might as well get started!

WordGirl Item #32 Week 24 music
Surprisingly, I didn't do very well this week. I was excited when I drew slip #32 - "Put on great music and dance or sing at least 15 minutes this week." I played some great music, but didn't do much on the singing or dancing end of things.
I played with my puppy a lot, though! Titus likes to chew on things and play chase, so that was my "exercise" in place of dancing and the joy of a puppy instead of singing! The video quality doesn't look as good here, but I love watching it anyhow.
The bottom part about the pontoon . . . since we've had it home for almost two months and want to get it back up to the lake, I decided to make that a priority. Louie always has more projects to do than time to do them, so I'm trying to do what I can to help!

WordGirl Money tips
This has nothing to do with my item of the week, but I wanted to share a resource. Since I've quit my job and I'm not quite sure what I'll do "next" with my life . . . I'm trying to be more careful with my money. This site has 100 tips and some of them may help you. I'm tempted to choose one a week to go along with 3F2E . . . of those that are relevant, that is. (I'm so glad I never *started* smoking! Quitting is a non-issue.)

WordGirl Item#11
For the week of June 4-10, I drew #11: "Gently, slowly stretch your muscles this week." Since I was stressed and tense, this was a really good one. My shoulders have been aching a lot, so stretching them (and my arms) out helped a lot. I also stretched my legs. I'd love to get a massage, but haven't had time lately. (I have a gift certificate that I got as a birthday gift, so I may need to just take the time!)

WordGirl Week 22 Item #27 Smile
I probably should have grabbed this one earlier in the week and been more conscientious about it all seven days. #27 says "Smile at 10 people this week - see if your smile is catching." I was fairly stern at work this week . . . trying to get books back from students before the end of the week, responding to kiddos who want something 3D printed, etc.
I was best about smiling with Louie . . . because that's easy! I smiled and laughed when a group of colleagues and I went out after work on Thursday. But I have tried to smile at work, too. I have no idea if my smile was "catching" but I tried to be pleasant and positive.
This is a good one to keep working on!

WordGirl #45 Week 21 Planting
I meant to take photos of plants, but . . . it's the end of the school year and I'm exhausted. I did plant some baby cedar trees that had "volunteered" from our back yard in Jordan (an area we mow) to along the septic field up at our lake place. They are wildlife friendly . . . but I hope the deer don't eat them. I also have lots of other stuff to plant outside if they're not dead. The last few weeks have been a little too "survival mode" for me. Soon I'll be on summer vacation! And I hope next spring to play in the dirt a bit more, come May.
#45 says "Plan or plant wildlife friendly plants where you live, work, or play."
